廃車の手続き～永久抹消登録について
前回、自動車廃車について２種類の廃車がある事は説明いたしましたので、今回は、二つのうちの一つ、『永久抹消登録』という手続きを紹介します。
永久抹消登録というのは、自動車をスクラップにしてもう乗れなくなるような措置をする時にする手続きです。
自動車を購入する時には陸運支局というところに、自動車の所有状況について登録をすることになっています。
日本国内には現在7000万台近い自動車が走っていると言われています。
自動車を所有する人は全て自動車税という税金を納める義務があります。
そのため、国では新社でも中古車でも、購入する時点で所有者を明確にできるようにしています。
つまり、通常の方法で自動車を購入しているのであれば、自覚がなくても所有者登録をしているので、廃車にする時には登録されている情報を抹消しなくてはならないということです。
自動車が事故や故障などで乗れなくなってしまい、廃車にする時にも、面倒だからといって手続きをしないでいると、登録上は自動車はまだ使われていると思われてしまうので、税金や義務などが発生し、お金もかかってしまいます。
きちんと永久抹消登録をすれば、自動車を使っていないという証明ももらえるので、税金の還付を受けることができる場合もあります。廃車の際には、手続きのメリットもあるので、忘れずに済ませるようにしましょう。
